Good Afternoon and welcome to another Simple Stamping Techniques Blog Hop! This month we are showing you ways to use our fun little Wooden Elements.
Simply Wooden Elements
I love using embellishments on a card. One such embellishment that gets overlooked are our Wooden Elements embellisments. Currently we have two sets …
Did you notice the price on the Butterfly Elements? Yes they are free with a $90 order during Sale-a-bration. While they have been sold out in USA they are still available here in Australia. They are Low Inventory so you’ll need to get your order in as soon as possible if you’d like them!
I’ve made a couple of cards for you today. Both are the same layout and design just in different colours.
In Balmy Blue …
Have you seen the new Country Florals Embossing Folder yet? It’s part of the Sale-a-bration 2nd Release and it’s gorgeous! To create this embossed look you swipe your ink pad (or brayer it for a lighter tone) over the inside of your embossing folder, insert the cardstock and run it through the Big Shot. I’ve teamed it up with a Balmy Blue Base Card and one of the designs from the Subtles Family paper stack. I’ve used a simple banner for my sentiment then finished it off with one of the sweet Butterfly Elements. They are fun and easy to add to a project for that little extra touch.
I think this one is my favourite. The softness of So Saffron is so pretty and there’s just something about yellow that cheers everyone up. I suppose it is the colour of sunshine!
For my element on this card I used a different butterfly from the Butterfly Elements. It’s one of the butterfly frames or outlines and Ive simply added the metallic pearls inside the frame for it’s body. There are many ways to use these little elements and know you’ll love playing with them and adding them to your projects too!

Gorgeous cards Leonie and what you’ve done with the embossing folder is great. Love those butterfly elements too
Leonie
thanks so much Libby and thanks for joining me in this monthly hop 🙂
Lora
I love your embossing folder cards. The white roses are beautiful. Would you mind telling me how you cleaned off all the blue ink to keep the roses white? I really want to use my Balmy blue card stock but want to keep the roses white.
Leonie
Hi Lora … it’s actually a piece of Whisper White. You ink up one side of the embossing folder with your ink pad and then run it through the machine with your white cardstock. The ink will only transfer to the paper where it is so if you dont get ink in the embossed part where the flowers are then the flowers will remain white. I hope that makes sense. I may have a facebook live video showing this technique – let me know if you’d like the link sent to you 🙂
