Whimsical Trees

I really tried to use something other than the Whimsy & Wonder bundle for today’s project but kept coming back to those whimsical trees. I just love this little Die set .

Here’s what I created for you today …

I love those cute and quirky trees! So while I did use the Dies from the Whimsy & Wonder suite I opted to use the paper from the Expressions in Ink Designer Series Paper Pack. I thought with its gold foil element it was perfect for this card with the paper peeking through the cutout on the Shimmery White cardstock.

This is such a fun and easy card to do and you could literally make a few of this design and get a different look with the different papers you choose. Even with the design of Paper I used would give a different look with the inky background.

How did she make that?

I started with a Shimmery White Tall card base (29.7cm x 10.5cm folded in half).

My top shimmery white layer was run through the Stampin Cut & Emboss to cut out the trees then I ran it through with the Timeworn Embossing folder to give more depth and texture. Now with my two layers I cut and affixed them to each other first before attaching to the card base. This way I could rotate the Designer Series Paper piece to show the background I liked – had to be able to see the gold foil!

The Bermuda Bay Light Stampin Blend was used to flick some colour on the lower section of the card base to make it a little more arty. My Merry Christmas sentiment is stamped in Evening Evergreen and the sentiment comes from the Heartfelt Wishes Stamp Set. To get the flowing flag look on the sentiment strip i pop two dimensionals on top of each other in the centre and just glue or glue dots on the sides.
