Good Afternoon and welcome to another Freshly Brewed Projects Blog Hop! Today we are creating cards and projects with a window. I’ve used the lovely new bundle Welcoming Window.
Welcoming Window
I was a little excited when I saw this sweet bundle was carried over into the new Annual Catalogue. Now what’s even more exciting is that you can still get it as a Bundle and Save 10% on the retail price! Gotta love that!
Here’s my card for today …
I had so much fun making this card. I love all the elements of the Welcoming Window Stamp Set and the Window Flower Box Dies. You can make some really sweet cards with them. I have no doubt you’ll see more of them from me in the future.
How’d she do that …
I did want to share how I created the elements in my window. First I cut out the window frame with the Window Flower Box dies. Then I used the Basic Borders dies to create my curtain …
After cutting my curtain I laid the window frame over it, glued it down and cut off the excess.
Once the curtain was done I moved onto the ‘inside’. I stamped the jug in Night of Navy, Leaves in Garden Green then coloured my flowers with my Polished Pink and Mango Melody Marker. Once the Jug of Flowers was complete I laid the window frame over the top.
I didnt want my curtain to cover all the flowers so lined it up accordingly. I traced around the window frame with a pencil and cut it out with my snips. Once cut I used the Blending Brushes to pop some Coastal Cabana shading. The frame was then placed on the inside piece using thinly cut strips from the Foam Adhesive Sheets.
Lifting the frame away from the flower layer gives the card dimension and looks like you are looking in through the window. To complete my window I added some shutters.
For the wall I used the Brick & Mortar 3D Embossing folder. I need to send a birthday card to a dear friend so this was the perfect sentiment for my card today. There’s a layer of the Pale Papaya Designer Series Paper behind the brick to match my curtain.
