Hello FAB followers, it’s the FAB Stampers here with another post for you. Today it’s Connie’s turn, and she’s sharing a couple of cards made with the new Waves of the Ocean Collection.

Waves of the Ocean Collection

This is a brand new collection of products, and they are beautiful. The Waves of Inspiration Bundle is an early release from the Annual Catalogue that will go live in May. There are 3 other products in the collection that will only be available until May 2, or while supplies last. So if you love them you’ll need to get them as soon as possible.

Photos do not even begin to do justice to showing you how stunning the Designer Series Paper is. The colours are deep and vibrant and coordinate beautifully with the Blue Foils Specialty paper and the gorgeous Waves Rhinestone Basic Jewels. If you are at all fond of the colour blue, these are absolute must have products.

On to the Crafting!

I love the pelican stamp so want to make sure I used him on my cards. Here is the first card.

Some Details

To stamp the wave, I used Coastal Cabana, and inked up the whole stamp. Then I used a sponge dauber to add Pacific Point and Night of Navy highlights to the stamp.

Tips & Tricks …

Make sure you start with your lightest colour of ink when doing this technique, and work to the darkest. That way you won’t contaminate your lighter ink pads with dark ink. Also, make sure you “huff” on your stamp before you stamp it, to make sure the ink is nice and moist, and didn’t dry while you were adding additional colours with your sponge daubers.

I covered over the wave after I stamped it so the pelican on the posts would not cross into the water when I stamped it.

The second card shows off what may be considered as the ‘back side’ of the Designer Series Paper, the side that isn’t blues. This time I stamped my Pelican on a scrap of Basic White and cut it out with the coordinating die. The clouds are also die cut, and I love that the dies include texture pieces to really make the clouds interesting.

I coloured the pelican with Light Grey Granite and SU700 Stampin’ Blend on both cards.
