Wow what a busy few days I’ve had … I had intended for this post to go up Friday but just simply ran out of time to get the post typed out! So my apologies for being quiet for a few days.
I am sure you have a favourite flower as I do and I have a couple but one I truly love is the Tulip so when Stampin’ Up! popped the Blessed Easter into the Occasions Catalogue it was one of the first I put on my Wish List! It’s a gorgeous single stamp and at just $20.95 its very affordable.
Now I recently saw another US Demo, llina Crouse, show how she watercolour her flower stamp with Markers and a Blender Pen and anyone who knows me knows I do not have a good relationship with my Blender Pens but I watched Illina’s video and thought hmm I should try this myself … so I did … and wow … I have a whole new friendship with my BlenderPens! So much so I even did a video on this technique for you!
Here’s my tulip card for you …
I just love how this one turned out – the fence using the Hardwood Stamp and all those Tulips – who wouldnt love a garden that looked like that? I know I would! We are coming up to Tulip Season here in Australia so I might have to get me some bulbs and see how I go?
Now how to colour the flowers?
Here’s what you’ll need …
Here’s my video showing you how to watercolour like I did with my Tulips …
Love the card and would like a hands on lesson? Cool … I’m doing Watercolouring Classes in April! Yes I said ‘classes’! I know that not everyone can attend class during the week or on a Saturday so I’m giving you three options!

Hi Leonie i watched your tulip and they look amazing can’t wait to come to your class to do them. Keep putting up your videos as they are great. Catch up with you soon xxx
Thank you so much for this inspiration and the tutorial. (And your blue nail polish which my kids thought was THE BOMB!) The timing was perfect as I was looking for an artistic technique to demonstrate at a workshop today with a group of pretty full-on crafters. The workshop was really successful (and lucrative) and they think I’m so accomplished they are planning to invite me back.
Oh awesome … you can send my commission to me lol … might need it for a starbucks or three on the cruise 😉 Seriously though … so glad it worked so well for you … actually I was wondering if the blue was too much 🙂
I’m definitely inspired! Beautiful card.
Love this card!
You amaze me – ~I never realised that tulip season in Australia is at the same time as tulip season in the UK. You live and learn!
Definitely worth waiting for Leonie. Thanks for showing your colouring in the video.
