Good Afternoon! Welcome to my last Snowflake Showcase post. These Special Edition products finish today so thought I’d better share my Watercolour Snowfall card with you!
I really enjoyed creating this card for my Snowflake Showcase Class held earlier in the month.
I do love these Snowflakes and adding them to this lovely Water Colour background was quick and easy and gives such a gorgeous result. Now it may have got a bit messy with the ink refills and water but I do think it was worth it.
How to create your Watercolour background …
- cut your Water Colour Paper to size
- totally spritz it with water – you want small pools to form
- drip drops from 2 Ink Refill bottles into pools allowing it to spread and blend
- tilt card slowly to get the entire piece covered in colour
- leave to dry or dry with your Heat Tool
The ladies were rather pleased with their finished backgrounds. One did think hers was too dark but it really made her snowflakes pop!
To finish our card we stamped the sentiment in Versamark and then covered with White Embossing Powder and Heat Set. Once our Snowflakes were adhered to the card we had to make it sparkle with Rhinestones didnt we!
No matter how many backgrounds you do with this technique no two will look the same. This was evident in class as while we all used the same technique, steps and products we all got different results.
Using the Heat Tool to dry your piece allows you to also push the water and colour around on your Watercolour paper for lovely and unique water marks.
I do hope you liked today’s card and dont forget today is the last day to get your Snowflake Showcase products.
All the items are still available except for the Velvet Paper – it was so lovely that it sold out last week!
