When a friend asked me to do a watercolour demonstration for her I obviously was happy to oblige … well until I went to make samples to show the ladies all the different ‘mediums’ Stampin Up! has to water colour with.  I do love to colour and I do love to use my Watercolour Wonder Crayons so I figured it to be an easy task. Then when I was trying to do one technique it would just not work for me so maybe I’ll show that first and by the time we get to the end they will have forgotten that sample – especially if it doesnt turn out!

I thought that I could also sneak in a sketch challenge the lovely Pam Browne put me onto – Mercy’s Tuesday Sketch Challenge by Mercy Kerin from USA. I have been a regular visitor to Mercy’s blog and she does some very lovely work so be sure to check her out. I love the name of her blog!!

This is Mercy’s Tuesday Sketch Challenge 34 for this week.

This sketch just has so many possibilities and I might just come back and revisit this sketch at a later date.

Here is the card I made for the sketch and one of the samples for tomorrow’s demonstration.

MTSC34-softswingI have been really wanting to use this set for some time as I just love the images in this set – sorta reminds me of Holly Hobbie – now thats taking you back hey? Those Holly Hobbie pictures were all the rage of the 70’s!

This image just reminds me of spring or summer and swinging on that old home made swing that was hung on the biggest tree in the back yard!

I’ve stamped the image in Jet Black Stazon onto Stampin’ Up! watercolor paper. Now once you’ve used watercolour paper from a retailer and then used the Stampin Up! watercolor paper you soon realise that ‘not all watercolor papers are created equal‘!

I have not found a watercolor paper better than the one from Stampin’ Up! and I’ve been to department stores and art shops and still the Stampin’ Up! watercolor paper rules – well for me it does.

When colouring the image all I did was use the Stampin’ Write markers along the edge and used my ever faithful Aqua Painter to blend and draw in the colours. Its very easy when you have the right tools.

If you’d like a Watercolour Demonstration then please be sure to contact me so we can arrange a date for you and your friends to see how much fun watercolouring really is.

Miss E gave it the nod of approval so it must be okay hey? Well lets hope the ladies like it tomorrow too! Lets also hope that I do the watercolouring right and impress them enough to feel they also ‘need’ all the right tools.

Well I’m off to finish packing my trolley so I can relax tomorrow morning before I head out!  No doubt the kids will ensure that I dont get too much relaxing done!
