Good Afternoon and thank you for joining us for another Freshly Brewed Projects Blog Hop. Today we are sharing the fun Gatefold Technique and I’ve used the Warm Hugs Bundle.
I do love this sweet little Heart Warming Hugs bundle and have a feeling I may just keep it if it retires. While it’s great for Christmas projects it will also be great for all sorts of treat projects as well. I mean who doesnt like coffee? latte’s? and/or hot chocolates?
Here’s the card I’ve created for you today …
I had so much fun creating this sweet Gatefold Card for you today! I mean … there’s coffee involved … and cookies!
Gatefold Card tips …
To create your card base divide the width of the cardstock by 4. This will give you the measurement to score from each end. My cardstock as 21cm wide which meant I scored at 5.25cm from each end. This will make your front panels meet at the centre.
After choosing which pattern from Heartwarming Hugs Designer Paper Pack to use for my cup I simply cut two panels from the same print for the front of my card.
My two image pieces act as the Gate ‘closure’ or ‘latch’. The Coffee Cup (from Press On) is affixed to the right front panel and the Warm Hugs medallion is affixed to the left front panel. When they close the corner of the cup slips behind part of the medallion which acts as the gate latch and holds the card closed.
I’ve stamped some extra hearts and stars in Cinnamon Cider to represent Christmas Cookies.
I did stamp off first to give the biscuit/cookies type look.
Here is the inside of my card …
I mean .. what’s a Latte Loving Lass to do?? As my younger sister said – that set was made for you!!
While the cup on the front of the card is stamped in Early Espresso and Crumb Cake this cup is done in Cinnamon Cider. The outline is done first generation and the background (or fill) is 2nd Generation/Stamped off.
I do hope you like what I’ve created today.
Let’s go hopping …
Now it’s time to click through and see what my creative friends have made for you using the Gatefold Technique ..
How cool were those projects?? I love that we all have the same theme but come up with different projects each week. I hope you enjoyed them as much as I did.
Thanks so much for stopping by and have a lovely day.
