Wow that month sure flew by and it’s now time for another Techniques 101 Blog Hop and this month we are doing Heat Embossing.
Heat Embossing leads it’s way to so so many techniques but today I wanted to do something fairly simply yet effective and really like what I created.
Today I’ve used a Christmas favourite of mine – Flurry of Wishes …
I love this set and being that today is the first day of Winter here in Australia it’s fitting I went with snowflakes.
I stamped the medium and smaller snowflakes onto Shimmery White Cardstock in Sweet Sugarplum and Pool Party. Then to give the card a bit of dimension and to soften or mute my Sugarplum and Pool Party Snowflakes I heat embossed largest snowflake and sentiment in the new (and very delicious) Copper Embossing powder.
I love the new Copper Embossing Powder – yes it is delicious – well not to taste but definitely delicious to the eyes!
To add a touch of elegance to the card I then added Rhinestones to the centre and parts of my large snowflake.
Now I have had lots of people ask me about adhering vellum to cards and what I use. I use Fast Fuse – it’s da bomb! It does not show under vellum – I’ve got it in each corner on this card and you can not see it at all – I love that stuff!
Now it’s time to hop through to see what the other ladies have created – here’s the complete list of all the Stampin Techniques 101 Design Team …

Thanks for stopping by today and see you latte ..
cool idea to add the vellum over top and embossing and I agree, I love that stamp set too…..
thanks Sandi … First Christmas card for the year done 🙂
Oh Leonie, your card is gorgeous, I love how the vellum layer adds softness to the card. Also thanks for the great tip, I will be using Fast Fuse to adhere vellum from now on.
Patrice thanks for your lovely comments … Vellum does make it soft and muted doesnt it. I was surprised and excited when I used the fast fuse with the vellum – works perfectly
