Good Afternoon – It’s Friday and we’ve made it through another week – go us!! Today I have a wonderful technique to share with you – Ink Smooshing!
Ink Smooshing Technique
This is a really fun technique to do although it can be a little messy so you’ll need to make sure you have your table or work area cleared and protected. Now I dont mean a huge 6′ drop sheet – just a 12×12 worksheet is sufficient. I used one of the backing boards from our Foil cardstock to work on.
If you search online you’ll see a few different ways to do this technique and I opted to do mine using a ziploc bag with my hand inside to do the ‘smooshing’. Now I’m not sure when the word ‘smooshing’ became a real word but we’ll go with it as that’s what you do – you smoosh the ink onto the watercolor paper!
I used the colours Lemon Lime Twist, Tempting Turquoise and Island Indigo on my piece and this is what it looked like before adding the stamping, die cuts & embellishments.

Love this technique, Leonie! I’ve been using acrylic blocks … thanks for the idea about using a plastic bag! 🙂
Leonie
you are welcome Angie. I got much better results with the plastic bag rather than the acetate window sheet. Makes the smooshing easier too 😉 Have fun!
