Colour Blocking with Cardstock

I do love colour blocking and it’s a great way to try colour combinations and use up all those offcuts of cardstock!

For today’s card I wanted something bright and fun so I started with going through my scraps/offcuts. My colour combination today is Flirty Flamingo, Seaside Spray, So Saffron and Highland Heather.

I did add some Soft Sea Foam for the card base and Granny Apple Green for behind my sentiment. Putting my blocks onto the black layer makes them pop!

I chose a different stamp from the Daisy Lane Stamp Set for each block and stamped in the same colour as the cardstock. If you dont have a lot of ink pads you could use Versamark on each piece of cardstock to give the same watermark look.

The Colour Blocking with Cardstock technique is lots of fun and depending on what colours you have you can get all sorts of wondering looks or themes with it!

My sentiment is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and punched with the 1 3/8″ Circle Punch then layered on a piece of Granny Apple Green punched with the Pretty Label Punch.

I think this bright card is what is needed during weather like we’ve had here in Sydney the last few days – cold, dreary and wet.

thanks so much Narelle .. tone on tone stamping is one of my favourite techniques with a little sponging as it gives a card so much depth
