Good Morning! I was checking my Love Today Planner this week and realised I have quite a few birthdays I need to make cards for this month and whille going through piles on my desk I came across a card that I obviously didnt finish and thought I’d share with you ways of stepping it up.
Stepping it Up!
I am sure I am not the only one that’s made a card and not quite finished it. I’ve been known to have a few UFO’s (Un Finished Objects) on my desk and in my card boxes. I actually think this one may have been from one of my emboss resist technique classes.
This was the card I found …
As cards go, this one is pretty enough but for the person I was sending it to I wanted it to be a little special.
Add a bow …
The quickest and easiest way to pretty up a card is to simply add some ribbon. I opted to tie it around all layers and into a bow…
Now that’s already stepped it up and is nice enough to send. Maybe we want it to be just a little more special though?
Add some Embellishments …
We have lots of gorgeous Embellishments in the Catalogues we can use – pearls, rhinestones, enamel shapes and a variety of clips and metal embellishments. For this card I decided to try the Glitter and Clear Epoxy Shapes from the Occasions Catalogue.
Now these little beauties are wonderful on their own but did you know you can colour them with your Stampin’ Blends? This way you can colour your embellishments to match any projects you make – quickly and easily!
Can you see them on this close up? I’ve added some clear and some coloured. They look like little water drops on the flowers and leaves!
Here’s the finished card ….
It’s now ready to send to my friend – I sure hope she likes it!
Do you have cards on your table or in your stash that could use some Stepping it Up? I would love to hear what you do with yours. Would also love a before and after photo!
Thanks for stopping by and have a lovely and creative day!
