Good Afternoon and welcome to another Freshly Brewed Projects Blog Hop! This week we are sharing ways to create stencils with dies for your projects.
Stencils with Dies
Today I decided to create my ‘stencil’ using the Ornate Borders dies and here’s my finished card …
This technique is fun and quite easy to do! You’ll want to choose a die that has a row or block design. You can do this technique with single dies of any sort it just takes a little more time and patience.
Here’s how I made mine …
- I cut my die from a piece of cardstock. As the die I chose is a border or edge die I made sure the piece of cardstock used was longer than the die.
- Attach your ‘stencil’ to your piece of cardstock. Use washi tape or post-it tape to hold your piece in place and to prevent it from moving. Sponge with daubers and ink pads.
- Remove stencil and use edge die to cut edge below design.
- Affix cut layer to mat. Then align that same edge die under the top panel lining up the die with the cut piece.
Embellish your layers with ribbons, rhinestones and sentiment. I grabbed my celebrate sentiment from the Flowers for every Season Memories & More Card Pack.
I do hope you like today’s technique and the card I made. I hope you find some time to create something for yourself this week – you may like to try this technique!
Let’s go hopping …
Now let’s go see what my friends have created for you today …
How cool were all those projects? I hope you enjoyed the blog hop as much as I did!
