Sponged Rooted in Nature
I do love the Rooted in Nature Stamp Set! It’s so very versatile. Recently, in class, I shared how to created lovely backgrounds with the Sponge Brayers. To create my card I stamped my trees in Night of Navy. Then using the Sponge Brayers created the hill scene and sky. Before sponging the Sky I popped a punched post-it circle to leave a void for my moon. I used Coastal Cabana for the sky and Call Me Clover for the grass and hills.
Once the sky was done I removed the post-it circle and sponged over lightly so the moon had a soft look.
I stamped the sentiment in Night of Navy onto Whisper White then cut it out with the Stitched Shapes Framelits. To soften the edge of the sentiment I sponged with Coastal Cabana so it blends with the card.
The sentiment circle is layered on the Shimmery Pool Party Ribbon to give this card a little more depth and texture.
Looking at this card now it reminds me of many of the places we saw in Alaska and Canada. I’d go back there in a heartbeat!
This card could easily be adapted for many different Occasions. It would be great for Birthdays, Sympathy, Get Well, Christmas or to just say hello and to let people know you are thinking of them.
