We made this inlaid die star card recently at my So Many Stars Class
I wanted a simple sentiment. One that wasn’t Christmas or Holiday related so chose “So Exciting” from the Itty Bitty Birthdays Stamp Set. It covers any occasion really!
To create the background is fairly easy. Lay all the stars over the whisper white layer and fit on as many as you can and run through your die-cutting machine. Now when it’s through make sure you retrieve all the pieces. If you are missing a couple check the dies as some pieces, regardless of how small they are, can remain in the die and will be noticeable if left out. Then simply glue all your pieces on your lower mat. It’s just like doing a jigsaw really!
I’ve also cut out a few more stars using the Silver and Champagne Foil and finished it off with a few rhinestones.
My simple sentiment is punched out with the Classic Label punch and slid under the larger star.
The Inlaid Die technique is quite effective and can be done with any shaped dies. You could even use squares, circles or ovals – any die set that has multiple of the same shape would work!
