Ever since Nicki visited in November and while visiting she sat and made these lovely cards using the star punches.

Nicki inspired me so much I decided I just needed the Star Punches and eagerly awaited the availability of the In the Stars set which is in the summer mini catalogue – we knew this was coming as Aaron demonstrated with it at Regionals in September.

Last night as I was preparing for today’s demonstration I knew there would be some new girls there that hadnt seen Stampin’ Up!® before – well not with me anyway! So I wanted to show them a variety of things that you can do with the awesome range of products. I demonstrated 2-step stamping with the stampamajig and made the Botanical Blooms card I shared the other day and also showed them how to make those gorgeous double pocket bags I made for the birthday girls on the weekend. I also wanted to show how well the stamps coordinate with the accessories so made this card using the In the Stars set and the star punches.

Star WishI started with a Brocade Blue card and used the Linen background stamp and the versamark pad to give the card a faux denim look – I also stamped this stamp onto the Cameo Coral piece before doing the faux stitching.

Using the In the Stars set with the star punches the ladies saw just how well the stamps fit into the punches and just how easy this card is to make and it actually used up a few of my scraps in the process too!

You could change this card into a masculine card just by changing a couple of the colours used.

The girls then got to make my Valentine card with the hat pin & pearls and we very pleased with themselves when they finished as they all thought it would be too hard – obviously they dont know me too well as anyone who does knows I ‘dont do’ hard cards! I think the ladies enjoyed themselves as they booked two more demonstrations and a stamp a stack!

I hope you like my little star card and have had a great day too! Now I’d better be off and make this house just a little presentable!

  1. Great card Leonie, it’s fantastic how you used so many different products to ‘up’ the card & it all co-ordinates so well. Something so simple yet very ‘noice!’
