Good Morning. Today I have a card for you from one of my recent Technique Classes – Masked Bells.
I love the Technique of Masking! I also love showing a little extra with the different techniques I teach. So for our Masking Technique we did masking and reverse masking.
First we did this card ..
To start I took a piece of copy or printer paper the same size as my top card layer. I cut the outline of the bell with the die from the Detailed Bells Dies which you’ll find on page 17 of the Holiday Catalogue.
Layered the copy paper over my white layer and sponged around the edge of the bell shape with my Seaside Spray Ink pad. Leaving a ‘white space’ in the centre of your bell gives the illusion of dimension.
Before removing the mask I stamped two snowflakes from the Colourful Seasons Stamp Set (p56 Annual Catalogue) in Night of Navy.
After removing the mask I stamped my sentiment from the Bells are Ringing Stamp Set in Night of Navy and a few more of the larger snowflakes in Night of Navy and the smaller Snowflakes in the Silvery Shimmer Delicata Metallic Ink Pad. I finished my card with some of the gorgeous Holiday Rhinestones for a little bling.
Reverse Masked Bells
We also made this Card with the Bell shape we cut out of the copy paper.
We placed the Bell die cut on the card then sponged around the edges carefully with Coastal Cabana Ink. Why carefully? well we didnt want to move, crease or tear the bell. We concentrated more around the edge of the Bell and gradually out.
Once we were happy with the sponging and before removing the mask we stamped a few arty images from the Christmas Gleaming Stamp Set. After removing the mask I stamped the sentiment in Bermuda Bay Ink.
My card is finished off with a few Basic Rhinestone Jewels and a sweet bow with the Silver edged ribbon.
I do hope you like my Masked Bells cards. Which is your favourite?
