No I’m not talking about the Bookstore – although its a very lovely bookstore and always nice for a visit and a cuppa 🙂

Wow its been a while – so much has been happening!  Today was one that was a bit emotional as my mum was placed in full time care as she has been diagnosed with Dementia and it seems to be progressing alot quicker than we’d have liked. From all accounts the move went very smoothly and she has a lovely big room to herself and took little time in asking me to make up a ‘memory chain’ for her.

Over the last couple of weeks I’ve also had my good friend Libby join my Stampin’ Up! team – you can check out her new blog here. I am so excited to have her join my team – Libby and I originally met online and have been good friends for quite some years now so its very exciting to be taking this journey together. Last Sunday we had her Business Launch  and it was great to see her friends support her.

We made two make n takes – one was the Christmas Box in a Bag I shared last week and the second was a very elegant but very easy card using the Just Believe stamp set and one of the lovely border punches Stampin Up! sells. Here is the same card but in different colours and showing three of our Border punches ….

How nice is this card?  I purposely left off a greeting so the card can be used for any occasion – think I might even send my mum one just because I can!

Now for some close ups of the cards ….

This card above is done in Peach Parfait and I’ve used the very lovely Whisper White Organza Ribbon and the Eyelet Border Punch.

This card is using the very lovely Blushing Bride – one of my new favourite colours! I’ve used the Pretty in Pink Satin Ribbon and the new Scallop Trim Border Punch – I love this new punch!

Now I am just loving Marina Mist! I’ve used the Marina Mist cardstock for the base and the beautiful Marina Mist Satin Ribbon. Now look at the border on this one! I’ve used the very new Pinking Hearts Border Punch which you will be able to purchase from the upcoming Summer Mini Catalogue which starts 1st December – just in time for Christmas!

Now mark this date in your diary – Saturday 4th December, 2010. I will be holding a launch for the Summer Mini Catalogue and there will be door prizes and special bonuses for anyone who places an order at the launch. There’ll even be a little Christmas surprise for all who attend. Be sure to mark it in your diary now and let me know youre coming!

  1. Lovely cards as usual Leonie, thanks for shaing the design with us all. Can’t have been an easy process of getting your mum into a home. Hugs to you.

  2. Sorry to hear about your Mum but at least you know she will be well cared for! Great news about Libby joining S.U.! I actually saw her at Cobbitty on Saturday and said to her “So when are you joining S.U.?” to which she answered that she was!!! lol You two will have a ball together, really happy for you both! (Checked out your site too Libby – looking great!)

Love your cards too Leonie – very, very nice!!!

  3. Hi Leonie, hope you are getting used to your mum being in care – my family had to put my Grandma in a nursing home for some years because of dementia (and a broken hip with which she lost her mobility). It was difficult for all concerned, esp. my mum. I am curious what is a memory chain?
    Hugs from SA

  4. Leonie, these cards are devine…..and congrats on the new team member. i love the way the same desogn/layout can look different just by a change of colour…and of course a different punch!! If I may be so bold….what green did you use for the foilage?? They are all so pretty.
I am saddened to hear of your Mum’s situation. I know what my Mum went thru when she had to put my g’mother in f/t care. There was such a rollercoaster of emotion for everyone. Sending out e-hugs to you and your family.
