Happy Happy Easter to you and yours!
Today I’m sharing with you what we made at my Easter Class last weekend – I actually made a second set so I had one for each of my girls. Apparently, Easter is a little like Christmas – one is never too old for Easter Eggs! Well I suppose one we celebrate Jesus’ Birth and the other we celebrate His Resurrection.
Here’s what we made in class …
A sweet Easter card and Easter basket.
So why do we give Eggs at Easter?
The custom of giving eggs at Easter celebrates new life. Christians remember that Jesus, after dying on the cross, rose from the dead. This miracle showed that life could win over death. For Christians the egg is a symbol of Jesus’ resurrection, as when they are cracked open they stand for the empty tomb. Maybe this is why I love those empty eggs so much!
I’ve used the lovely Happy Easter Stamp set and watercoloured my bunny with the Aqua Painter and Reinkers. The eggs and flowers in the background have been coloured with my Stampin Write Markers. I did stamp the image twice and fussy cut the bunny out to lift him up on my card and make him pop.
Then we have our Easter Basket. It’s made with Crumb Cake card stock and ‘chockers’ full of Easter Eggs! It’s quite sturdy with the cardstock and if you wanted to make these with Designer Series Paper I’d be inclined to cut it in DSP and Cardstock and adhere to pieces together to give it strength as the DSP alone would probably not sit or hold too much without falling over.
I’ve also added a sweet paper bow made using the In Colour Patterned Stacks and the Bow Builder Punch. I love that Punch! So Cute and So versatile. Now I’m holding a Bow Punch class on Saturday 11th April where you’ll make 3 different projects using the bow punch so be sure to register for that one – or contact me to arrange your Bow Punch Class by Mail to be sent to you.
Here’s the Basket of goodies I gave to the girls …
Mind you they did get a few more than just what was in the basket! Easter is a wonderful thing to celebrate is it not?
I do pray you are having a wonderful weekend of Easter Celebrations!
Thanks for stopping by and catch ya latte …
