I know its now after Christmas and I’m here still posting Christmas creations but this is what happens when you’re not organised enough before Christmas to have all your ‘Christmassy’ posts scheduled and you end up coming down with the flu on Christmas Eve!  Needless to say I’ve impersonated many of the Seven Dwarf’s this Christmas – Dizzy, Sneezy, Achey and Sleepy with a touch of Grumpy – just a touch though!

I did want to share this little project with you though as its one that I loved creating and designing myself. I actually made this as one of my samples for the Heartfelt Stampin’ Up! Event in Sydney back in November and yup due to me being disorganised and rather busy between then and now you’re just seeing it now – sorry about that!

Gingerbread House

Cute hey?  The Scentsational Season set and matching Framelits came in very very handy to embellish this little house!

Gingerbread House – Side

This picture shows the House from the other side so you can see how the door sits ajar and the other side.  The roof is made using the Scalloped Square die and then just some of the patterned papers from the lovely Be of Good Cheer Designer Series Paper pack.  The little candies over the house are also from that same paper pack and punched out with a circle punch – too easy!

Gingerbread House Front

Showing the front of the house and the little door with the wreath and ribbon from Joyous Celebrations.  The windows were created using the Postage Punch and the 1″ square punch.

I do hope you like my little Gingerbread House and if you’d like the tutorial leave me a comment with your email and I’ll send one to you – I know its late for this year but cant hurt to be prepared for next year can you??

I am also in the process of looking for a good app for my new Samsung Galaxy Note II which has a calendar and to-do/task scheduler in it so if you have one you use please share the details!

  1. Were you able to find the template for your paper gingerbread house?
I would love to do this adorable project with some six year olds.

  2. I just got on Pinterest and found your wonderful gingerbread house. I just got the new thinlit for the house and want to revamp it with Scentsational Season and some of the other dies from the past. I’m using them for table decorations on the 12th for a sorority Christmas party. I’d appreciate any help you can give me. Thanks for all of your help! Kay

  3. I love your little gingerbread house just like all the other ladies. I love the shape of it better than the home sweet home one. If you do find it I would love to have a copy. Stamping, cutting, and sharing is the best for my sanity. I love it all. Thanks for your generosity in sharing your talent. Karen

  4. I wish I could get your tutorial from 2012—I like the shape better than the new Home Sweet Home dies.

    Yours was the best!!

  5. If you are able to find the tutorial I would like a copy of it. New to Stamping Up and would like to try a little something.

    1. Hi Laura .. .I’m sorry but I’ve been unable to locate the tutorial or the template as it’s from 2012 and I’ve had a few computer changes since then. I will make a new one with the Sweet Home bundle to share over the next week or so

  6. I know it’s years later, 2016, but I would really like your gingerbread tutorial. It’s the beginning of September now, so I will have lots of time to make up a bunch. The sets and paper are no longer available but if you can send me the house and roof dimensions I can make some up for my grandbabies with surprises inside. Thanks so much

    1. Yvonne .. i had to go back and see how long ago it was – wow it was a long time lol. I will see if I can find it .. you may like to consider the sweet home framelits and stamps that are new in the Holiday Catalogue.

  7. This is perfect! My husband and I tried to make a store bought gingerbread house. It collapsed within a hour of it’s construction. I think paper may be the way to go. If you don’t mind emailing me the tutorial that would be amazing 🙂

  8. This is v v sweet (pardon the pun) and cute to boot Leonie. Love how all the bits have come together creating a delish masterpiece. Hope you are doing better now. ooxx

  9. Wonderful house Leonie. Not sure if you’ll be able to read this comment as the page isn’t working just quite right and its overwriting itself over other text.
I’d love the tutorial for your wonderful house. And I hope you are able to kick those dwarves out of the house and body pronto! As for late posting…I’ve always celebrated Christmas right up through Epiphany so love to continue seeing the fun and inspiring ideas my fellow procrastinators have come up with. 😀 And since we all thought the world was ending…what was the rush…right? LOL!
Hugs and Christmas Blessings and wishing you a wonderful and joyful New Year. – Jean

P.S. Thanks for convincing me I really have to finally buy this Scentsational Season set! Nothing like waiting till the last minute right?
