Fluttering Hello

Good Morning … just Fluttering in to say Hello on this Sunny Sunday!

I have another card for you today from my Ways to Use Embossing Folders class using the Fluttering Embossing Folder and the Butterflies Thinlits ..

Fluttering - Inked Embossed Folder Technique - Leonie Schroder Independent Stampin Up Demonstrator AustraliaThe technique I’ve on this card is the inked embossing folder technique.  It’s quick and easy and gives such a wow – it really makes the embossed images pop!

Fluttering - Inked Embossed Folder Technique - Leonie Schroder Independent Stampin Up Demonstrator AustraliaSimply ink the embossed folder with a brayer, pop your cardstock in and run it through the Big Shot and it’s done.  I’ve used Sweet Sugarplum ink with Sweet Sugarplum cardstock for the tone on tone contrast.

It really is that easy and you do want to use a rubber brayer and you ink up the side of the folder you want inked so for this one I inked the side that has the background raised.

Fluttering - Inked Embossed Folder Technique - Leonie Schroder Independent Stampin Up Demonstrator AustraliaMy butterfly is done in Vellum and Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper.

I’ve used vellum with the Bold Butterfly outline die which fits perfectly behind the cut out butterfly which I’ve done in the Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper.

Remember when cutting out dies with our Glimmer paper to turn the Glimmer paper over so you are cutting direct into the card backing and not through the glitter on top.  This works for all dies except letters, numbers & words.

My next Ways to Use class is Saturday 1st April and it’s Ways to Use Markersclick here to RSVP or contact me to arrange your class by mail.

Thanks Leonie, I don’t use my folders enough either. Sure am going to try this one for Mother’s Day cards – at least 51 to do for Ronald McDonald House where my daughter and Grandson are currently ‘living’.

    1. You’ll love this technique Lynne … try subtles ink with vanilla cardstock … very pretty 🙂

What a pretty card! Thanks for the idea! I don’t use my embossing folders nearly enough and this inspires me to get them out and try this technique!

    1. I’m glad my card has inspired you to have a go at this technique. There’s just much more we can do with our folders than straight dry embossing
