Happy Reformation Day to You!

I figured that since today is the last day of October I should share my final Essentials Club project for October for the Fancy Favor Box die.

Over the month I’ve demonstrated the Fancy Favor Box die at various Parties, workshops and classes and the ladies have loved seeing all the different uses for it.  I love showing how you can get lots of different uses from the one product – it helps you get more for your money!  When I first saw the Fancy Favor Box I thought ‘it’s nice but it’s only a little box’ so whenever I wanted to use it I just borrowed it from my lovely friend Lisa. The more I’ve borrowed the die the more uses I’ve found for it and so much so that I’ve bought my own die now which I’m sure Lisa will be grateful for!

Here is a project I’ve highlighted with my customers and team this month – how to make different sized boxes or bags …

This picture shows you the three bags together to show the different heights or sizes you can get.

The pink box …

Fancy Favor Box

This is the box as it comes – it stands 9cm high and the base is 7.5 x 5.5cm.  It’s a great size for little gifts like tealight candles, jewellry, ornaments or pandora beads.  The tag is from the Apothecary Accents Framelits and the butterfly is from Papillion Potpourri and is punched out with the matching Elegant Butterfly punch.

The medium box …

Fancy Patio Party

This box is done using Not Quite Navy cardstock and the paper is from Patio Party DSP – dont you just love how Stampin Up! coordinates all their products down to the colours used in their Designer Series Paper packs! Now this one I assembled a little different as I have the straight edge at the top and the decorative edge in the middle – gives it a little flair.  I’ve simply just tied a piece of Baja Breeze Seam Binding to close the box.  This size is great for chocolates, soap, votive candles, perfume, figurines or cookies/treats.

The Tall box …

Fancy Christmas Bag

I love this bag and this new Designer Series Paper! The paper comes from the Snow Festival DSP pack and again love the matching colours in our paper packs! This pack has a nice range of papers with some in traditional colours of Old Olive and Cherry Cobbler and others using blues for our friends in the Northern Hemisphere – or maybe its for us here in Australia to help us cool down and what always seems to be a hot and humid day in Australia!

As you can see I’ve attached the straight edge to the base box and this gives the top our of bag the decorative edge.  This bag stands 17cm tall so its nearly twice the height of the first box!  These boxes would be great for bags of coffee beans/ground coffee, tall candles, Willow Tree figurines, perfume or even as a lolly/treat bag for a party!

The tag is done using the Decorative Label punch and I’ve stamped the very cute penguin from the very cute Polar Party stamp set.  Here’s a close up of the tag …

I just love Penguins!! Can you tell??
