Good Afternoon and welcome to this week’s Freshly Brewed Projects Blog Hop with the Latte Girls. This week we are sharing the Eclipse Technique.
Eclipse Technique
This is a fun and easy technique where you die cut a shape, word or letters from a patterned piece of paper or stamped layer and lift it so you get an Eclipse look.
I’ve created my layer today using the number ’21’ – lol that sounds like a segment of Sesame Street! I’ve stamped the numbers from Number of Years stamp set in Bermuda Bay and Lemon Lime Twist ..
There are lots of tutorials out there and it’s quite simple. Once I had my top panel done I cut two of the numbers out using the Large Letters Framelits. I’ve affixed those numbers in the Bermuda Bay Glimmer Paper over the top to make them sparkle. I used Dimensionals to lift the numbers and offset it just a little to get the Eclipse look.
It’s my daughter’s 21st Birthday in a couple of weeks so thought I’d get in and get her card done early. Now all I have to do is remember where I’ve ‘hidden’ it! I dont use this set or framelits nearly enough so may need to find more ‘number’ birthdays to use them!
I was going to tie a big bow on the front but opted to tie my ribbons together with a Pool Party Baker’s Twine bow. It suited the card better and sometimes less really is more!
I had fun creating this card for you .. and for Caitie! I sure hope she likes it – or, at least, pretends she does and gushes all over it!
