Crackers for Christmas

If you are anything like me you need all the Christmas Designer Series Papers. They are all so very pretty! Now if you are truly like me, you will find you have oodles of papers left over after Christmas too! A great way to use up the papers is to make little treat bags, boxes, tags and of course …. Crackers for Christmas gatherings!

For my Cracker today I’ve used the gorgeous Whimsy & Wonder Specialty Designer Series Papers

Here’s my cracker ….

I have made Christmas Crackers or Bon Bon’s before but have had tools to punch the pieces to create the pull in part. This time I opted to just use my Paper Snips to create the cut out pieces I needed. It was a lot easier than I thought!

My Christmas Cracker uses a full sheet of A4 cardstock so it’s plenty big enough to pop in a gift or fun treat and use as a table decoration.

Christmas Cracker Measurements …

Using a full sheet of A4 cardstock …

  • along the short edge score at 5cm, 10cm, 15cm and 20cm
  • along the long edge score at 4cm, 5.5cm, and 7cm, rotate and repeat along opposite edge.
  • burnish all score lines, with the three lines above burnish centre line as valley and others as mountain
  • use your paper snips or scissors to create notches.
  • assemble & decorate

If you are a visual learner why not join me tomorrow for my Facebook Live at 10.30am and I’ll show you how to make them. After the Live Video is done I’ll edit it and share it in the post here. So maybe bookmark this page to return to see the video.

Can you imagine all the fun things you could pop inside? These would be great for the dinner table at Christmas or even as a way to ‘wrap’ a gift. You could fit all sorts of gifts inside …

  • Scarf/Pashmina
  • Chocolates/Candy
  • Jewelry
  • Perfume
  • Gift card
  • Gift voucher/cerrtificate
  • Pencils/Markers/Pens
  • Post-it Notes
  • Stationary
  • Figurines
  • sealed treats (cookies, yo-yo’s, candies)

How nice would it be to make these for your friends or family coming for Christmas Lunch or Dinner? you could customise them for each person and still include a joke or saying. Just think of the fun of shopping for a useless little toy to put inside … or make it something meaningful. Instead of a joke why not pop in ‘it’s your turn to do the dishes’ or ‘yay … you get to wash my car!’ You are only limited by your imagination!

Let’s go hopping …

Now it’s time to see what my crafty friends have made for you this week …

How cool were those projects? I hope you found some inspiration and got crafty!

I hope to see you tomorrow at 10.30am so we can craft together. Bring along a sheet of cardstock and Christmas Paper and some ribbon to play along with me!

Thanks for stopping by and see you latte …

  1. I adore the Whimsy & Wonder DSP and your cracker is awesome. Love the embellishments too – that little tree looks fabulous.
