What things do you consider when you look at a stamp set?
Do you consider whether you can colour it and how before you purchase?
The moment I saw the ‘For the Birds‘ stamp set I immediately thought it would make a good ‘water colouring’ set and I do love to colour in! I also happen to love birds … all sorts of birds … and I also love bird houses as I shared in my last post.
So when I was creating cards and samples for my Blendabilities class I just had to make some cards with the For the Birds set and here’s my first ….
I love how these cards turned out. I wanted the images and the colouring to be the hero of the card so just having them on a plain white card like this does exactly that.
Now you may ask why I didnt just do a single layer card. Well when you colour with the Blendabilities the colour really soaks into the paper/cardstock so you can the blobs on the back which would be on the inside. So layering it like this not only gives the card depth but it prevents the recipient seeing the ugly blobs on the inside of the card.
This one is my favourite of the two. I love the sentiment and the image was so much fun to colour. The birdbath reminds me of one we used to have in our back yard when I lived at home. My Mum not only had a love of flowers but she did love the birds too and we also had many plants in our back yard to attract the native birds plus the birdbath for them to rehydrate and bathe in.
Did you know that during Sale-a-bration you can earn some of the Blendabilities for free? True – check out page 20 of the Sale-a-bration Catalogue. You can select one free set of Blendabilities for each $90 you spend!
