Good Morning and thanks for stopping by today. I’m sharing my Anchor of Hope Card with you using the Come Sail Away Suite. I’ve also included a neat little trick on one of the elements of this card.
Sailing Home – Anchor of Hope
Sometimes when you make a card it surprises you on how it turns out! This is one of those cards. Not my usual ‘style’ but I do love it and hope you do too!
I have a few different elements on this card from the Sailing Home Suite …
- Label, Sea Weed and Ship Wheel from the Smooth Sailing Dies
- Anchor from the Sail Away Trinkets with some frayed Night of Navy/Sahara Sand Baker’s Twine
- Embossed layer using the Laser-cut overlay from the Come Sail Away Memories & More Card Pack
There are so many different products in the Sailing Home Suite and can be used in so many different ways.
If you look at the Balmy Blue layer I have on my card you’ll notice it has some cool waves on it. You’ll also notice its not done with the High Seas Embossing Folder. It’s actually done using one of the Laser-cut overlays from the Come Sail Away Memories & More Card pack …
I simply took this Overlay and ran it through my diecutting machine with the cardstock. I used the platform and cutting mats as if I was cutting a thin die. Depending on your machine you may need to add a thin shim to get the depth you are after. Run it through and back so you get a good impression.
It results in this really cool effect. Now that opens up a whole new world of embossed layers doesnt it?
