Freshly Brewed Projects Blog Hop with the Latte Girls

Christmas Decor

I do love Christmas and love to create little items of Christmas Decor to decorate my home for Christmas. It is always nice to create something that can be used year after year or even given as a gift. Making items like this yourself give the gift or the item more meaning.

Here’s what I created for today’s blog hop ..

I was so happy how this turned out. Now it’s completely different to what I’d originally planned. I had run out of time – today was a hectic day and over the last couple of weeks the continual smoke from the Bushfires has played havoc with my health and especially my sinuses. I have some medication to take now which is taking some time to get used to.

After this morning’s class I had a little housework to get done … had to put the dishwasher through, do a load of laundry, fold clothes and put dinner on in the slow cooker. Once that was all done I sat down to finish today’s project.

I found an old piece of watercolour paper that I’d demonstrated a salted watercolour technique on and that become the background for today’s scene. The trees are stamped in Garden Green (yes I finally used it) and the tree is from the Winter Woods Stamp Set. The Santa Sleigh is a die from the Jolly Season Dies from the Night Before Christmas Suite. Then I needed a quote or sentiment. “Believe” from the Holly Jolly CHristmas Stamp Set was perfect. Not wanting to cover too much of the trees Vellum was the perfect paper to stamp and emboss on. All I had to do then was to pop it in the little 5×5 frame I’d picked up from Kmart a while ago .. I got three frames (4×4, 5×5 and 6×6) in the pack for $6 – bargain!

So even though one can be time poor if you have a stash of goodies you can easily create something pretty to decorate with or give as a gift! I do hope you like what I’ve created for you today.

Let’s go hopping …

Now it’s time to see what the Latte Girls have created for you this week …

Don’t forget to leave the girls a comment as you hop through.

Now I’d better go check the slow cooker and see how dinner is progressing.

Thanks for stopping by …
